00readme.txt - NSSDCftp Directory Version - 2005-05-09 JFC ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NSSDCftp Mission Data Set Directory for Helios 2 This directory includes information on the Helios 2 mission and subdirectories holding data sets, documents, and software from the spacecraft and science experiments. This site is jointly maintained by the Space Physics Data Facility (SPDF) and the National Space Science Data Center (NSSDC) at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subdirectories Directory Description --------- ----------- mag Hourly averaged interplanetary magnetic field data from triaxial fluxgate magnetometer experiments of Ness et al. and Neubauer et al. The Neubauer et al. data are also part of the merged data set in the MGD_FREEMAN directory. The Ness et al. data were provided more recently by F. Mariani of Italy. plasma Hourly solar wind plasma data from experiment of Rosenbauer et al. These data are also part of the merged data sets in the MGD_FREEMAN and MERGED directories. traj Hourly heliocentric coordinates of the spacecraft as also included in the MGD_FREEMAN directory. mgd_freeman Merged hourly data for interplanetary solar wind and spacecraft heliocentric coordinates as compiled for NSSDC by Prof. John W. Freeman of Rice University. The data file for this data set is in VMS binary format and must be retrieved from another site. merged Merged hourly data for interplanetary solar wind and spacecraft position as compiled for the NSSDC Heliospheric Data CD-ROM and converted to heliographic/RTN coordinates.
