   The FITS Basics and Information that used to be at this location has
   been replaced by a set of World Wide Web pages that can be reached
   from the FITS Support Office home page at
   http://fits.gsfc.nasa.gov/fits_home.html.  Readers are advised to go
   there to obtain an updated and expanded edition of the material that
   used to be in the FITS Basics and Information. This notice will
   remain on this ftp site until approximately mid-January 1998 to
   notify and redirect those who still access it or are directed here
   by links that have not been updated.
